This remaster marks the first time the cult classic has ever been released on PlayStation. However, after folding Alan Wake into the world of Control, it seems Remedy has big plans for its own interconnected universe of games – and Alan Wake 2 feels very much like it could be a part of that.Īlan Wake originally arrived in 2010, and told the story of an author on the search of his missing wife, slowly discovering that a horror story he wrote is coming true around him. I'd be really curious to see some research done on just why games sell better on the PlayStation, and whether GamesPass is a significant factor in that reason. It's obvious that games such as Back4Blood will sell better on the PlayStation when it releases this week because it will release directly on to the GamesPass at the same time, but maybe the impact of the GamesPass also has ramifications affecting the sales of new games not released directly on to the GamesPass at launch. It's just possible that Xbox gamers don't feel the need to rush out and buy the latest games because they already have plenty to be getting on with. I get that these games are selling better on the PlayStation, but is possible that those that own Xboxes will pick these games up eventually, when they are sold at a reduced price in a sale in a few months time, and in the meantime occupy themselves with the literally hundreds of games available on the GamesPass? That's not meant to come across as an Xbox fanboy comment, but rather an objective thought as to why newer games that don't release on the GamesPass sell better on the PlayStation. ![]()
